How do I contact someone if I have problems or questions regarding the sale?  Email at fbcconsignmentsale@yahoo.com or call 678-677-8066, but please do not wait till the last minute.  E-mails are checked multiple times per day, the phone line once a day, so use e-mail for a faster response.

What is Mops?  MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) is an International Christian organization that nurtures the art of being Mothers. Moms of all denominations come together to share the joys and frustrations of being a Mother.  For more information, check out our website www.fbcgmops.org, the MOPS International website www.mops.org, or contact us at 678-677-8066.

What can I sell?  Anything to do with raising children from newborn to kids size 14 and maternity.  All items must be in season, clean, contain all pieces and parts, and in good working condition.  Please No perishable items such as formula or baby food.

Why all the rules about the supplies to participate?  We have had lots of practice with many sales.  Our tags, hanger position and type, etc., are what works best for our HUGE successful sale.  Uniformity and communication is the key.

Why am I being asked for a print code?  My Consignment Manager requires a print code when you log in through their main site.  To print your tags you need to log in from our link http://www.myconsignmentmanager.com/fbcgainesville/ and then you will be able to print without a print code.

Can I sell less than 25 items?  Yes, some people just sell several large items or a minimum or $25.00 worth of items.

Why can’t I use wire hangers?  With the amount of merchandise we display the wire hangers can tear and destroy clothes!  The clothes become entangled and slide to one of the wire hangers.  You can use the free plastic hangers from stores or purchase plastic hangers from discount stores.

Where does the money go from the consignment sale?  As a seller you receive 70% of what you sell.  The 30% goes to First Baptist MOPS.  We use this money to help support our meetings, Moppets classes, and help other MOPS groups.

Why is there a $7 sellers fee?  Every year we grow and improve!  We advertise more to remain competitive with other area sales.  We also hire professional security for the safety and peace of mind of our volunteers, workers and shoppers.

How do I know how to price an item?  Price them as if you were going to buy them yourself.  How much would you pay?  A general rule is 1/3 of full retail.  Big ticket items generally sell for ½ full retail value.  Name brand items price slightly higher.  Group items (onesies, socks, and bottles) in bags and price as a group.

How can I make my drop off time quicker?  Have your items grouped together.  Group all the boy or girl items together and then group those by size together.  Doing this you won’t be back tracking hanging your items up.  Use large laundry baskets, clean wagons or strollers to bring things in.  The walking distance is further from the parking lot to the drop off entrance door.

"When can I pick up my unsold items? Pick up of unsold items will be between 4:00 and 5:00 on the day of the sale.  Any items not picked up promptly by 5:00 pm will be donated.  We do not have access to the items once they are picked up by the charity, so please make sure to pick up your items on time."

Why do you emphasize EXCELLENT QUALITY so much?  No one wants to sort through, much less buy low quality items for their children.  It’s a time waster for everyone to put worn, stained, out of date, not working items on a rack.  That’s why we must insist on accepting only high quality items.

Why did the labeling system change?  The previous tape and label system was very cumbersome, time consuming and stressful for everyone involved.  We have done local research at other sales and noticed the ease and accuracy these sales operated.  We are the one of the largest sales north of Atlanta and we feel it necessary to keep our reputation and sales up by modernizing our system.

Do you provide childcare?  Yes, but only for our workers, and only during their scheduled shifts for Friday and Saturday.  You must reserve your spot ahead of time if you require childcare.  We do not provide childcare for drop-off/pick-up or before/after your shift so that you can shop.  We will not have childcare available to the general public.

When do I get my money?  All checks will be mailed within two weeks of the close of the sale, unless other arrangements are made by the seller.
